Image of a Traditional Nepalese wooden chariot with intricate Newari carvings, roof, and temple-style details.

Brief Details of the Wooden Chariot

Style: Traditional Nepalese/Newari temple chariot design.

Material: This Wooden Chariot is constructed from natural hardwood, with all carvings completed entirely by hand, not produced by machine processing.

Structure: It adopts an overall multi-layer built structure, with the top canopy shaped like a stupa, and is divided into three layers in total.

Roof: The roof features a layered design with one tier stacked upon another, and the edge of each tier is equipped with upward-curling golden ornaments.

Carvings: The carvings on the wooden body are elaborate and intricate, including floral patterns, geometric motifs, and traditional Newari wood carvings.

Supporting Pillars: There are a total of four wooden pillars fully covered in decorative patterns, neatly supporting all the upper structures of the Wooden Chariot.

Paint Finish: The surface of the wood is polished, presenting an overall reddish-brown hue, and is complemented by golden decorative metal fittings.

Top: At the very peak of the Wooden Chariot, there is a decorative finial, which is also fitted with traditional golden ornaments.

Passenger Compartment: Located in the lower section of the Wooden Chariot, there is a fully enclosed wooden cubicle, serving as the dedicated God space.

Additional Details: Decorative metal rings and metal handles are installed all around the sides of the chariot.

Overall Style: The entire chariot has a gorgeous and exquisite appearance; it is a purely handcrafted traditional artifact that fully meets the usage requirements for religious and various ceremonial occasions.

Shape Proportions: It has an overall vertically elongated, tall and narrow shape, inherently carrying strong visual characteristics of temple architectural style.
